How To Connect Two Windows 7 Pc Using Lan Cable

May 23, 2024

To connect two Windows 7 computers using a LAN cable, you can try these steps:
Check if both computers support an Ethernet cable. If not, you'll need an external Ethernet adapter.
Plug one end of the Ethernet cable into the first computer's Ethernet port, and the other end into the second computer's Ethernet port.
Open Control Panel.
Open Windows Explorer on both computers and click Network.
Turn on network discovery on both computers.
Assign different IP addresses to each computer.
Right-click Computer from the Start menu and select Properties.
Click Change settings.
Under the Computer Name tab, click Change to assign a workgroup.
Restart both computers.
Double-click the Computer icon in the Start menu, and click Network from the left side of the explorer window.
In Network and Sharing Center, turn on File and Printer sharing.
Choose a folder and click Share.

LAN cable connections are faster and more stable than Wi-Fi or Bluetooth connections, and don't require an internet connection.
