To ensure the safe and reliable operation of cable lines, in addition to a comprehensive understanding of laying methods, structural layout, routing direction and cable joint location, attention should also be paid to the following matters:
(1) Perambulatory inspection should be conducted once a quarter, and outdoor cable ends should be inspected once a month.
In case of heavy rain, flood and other special circumstances and failure, should increase the number of inspections as appropriate.
(2) the main contents of inspection include: (1) whether mechanical damage;
(2) there is no corrosion and flooding;
(3) there is no damage and discharge phenomenon of cable end insulation sleeve.
(3) In order to prevent premature aging of cable insulation, line voltage should not be too high, generally should not exceed 15% of the rated voltage of the cable.
(4) Keep the electric circuit running under the specified allowable continuous load current.
Because overload does great harm to the cable, the load of the cable should be measured and monitored frequently.
(5) Regularly detect the temperature of the cable skin and monitor its heating situation.
Generally, the temperature of the cable skin should be measured when the load is maximum, and the line segment with the worst heat dissipation condition should be selected for the key test
