In the construction or maintenance of cable and television coaxial cable, when the cable length is not enough, the two-way connector (commonly known as string connector) is generally used to connect the two cables. Because of the nonstandard operation at the connection, signal faults are common, and the following are common:
First, when the f-head of cable is inserted into the serial connector, the spring sheet in the string joint is compressed and dislocated due to excessive force, which makes the cable core wire and spring strip contact bad, especially the feed cable is easy to cause the head to fire and cause signal failure.
Second, the cable at the joint is not left with allowance, and the joint position is left at will. For a long time, the head F and cable are loose due to the cable thermal expansion and contraction or external force. It is easy to ignore the joint in the line which seems to be a straight line, which often causes misjudgment of the fault. Even when the connector is found, it is difficult to make the joint again because there is no cable allowance.
Third, cable allowance is not enough or too much, and binding is not firm. One way is to leave only a few margin, so that the radius of coil is too small, especially for the cable-12, because of its large tension, the f-head circlip is often ejected, which makes the cable shield layer off the head, resulting in the poor signal of low frequency section; the other is that the margin is too much, and more than ten circles of cables are randomly coiled together, and the head is easily shaken out with the wind.
Fourth, the joint is not sealed with waterproof tape, the head is oxidized with water and the signal level attenuation increases.
According to the above conditions, when connecting cables, as long as the following methods are followed, the failure can be basically eliminated.
First, the cable joints shall be generally left at the convenient position of maintenance such as pole or corner, and sufficient allowance shall be reserved (depending on the different cable specifications is not less than the minimum bending radius, it can be turned into 3-4 turns generally). If the ideal position is not reached, cut off the remaining cables with pain, rather use several meters to connect the part of the cable.
Second, the f-head of the cable must be carefully and carefully. When inserting the f-head into the serial connector, it is necessary to gently push it in with the spring chip, and then tighten the f head with force after the insertion is normal.
Third, the joint must be sealed with self adhesive rubber tape as semi-lap wrapping, and then a layer of PVC adhesive tape shall be wrapped on the outer layer of the joint as the protective layer to prevent water from entering the joint.
Fourth, the remaining cable tray shall be turned to make its bending no less than the minimum bending radius of the cable, and then bound with iron binding wire, and about 5 at the ends of the string joint The CM position must be bound together, so that the arc at the joint can be kept in one with the bending of the remaining cables in the plate. The f head will not pop up due to cable tension. Finally, the remaining cables that are tied up shall be fixed on the pole cable frame or wall without any swing.
