PVC wire and cable materials have higher requirements, and they should have higher mechanical properties, electrical properties, high and low temperature resistance and aging resistance. Therefore, type II resin is often used (type I resin can be used if it is strictly required). The impurity in the resin should be less and the number of fish eyes should be less.

Lead salts are used as stabilizers, and the amount of stabilizers is about 6 phr. The total amount of plasticizer is generally less than 60 phr. The common cable material can use phthalate ester. For the cable material with high electrical insulation and high temperature resistance, high molecular weight plasticizer, such as phosphate ester, can be used.

The amount of lubricant is about 1 phr. Stearate has both stabilizing and lubricating effects. It is often used with stearic acid and paraffin. Some fillers, such as satin fired clay, can improve the electrical insulation performance and heat resistance, and can be added about 5 phr, while ordinary fillers are generally not used. For the sheath materials with special requirements, such as cold resistance, heat resistance (80 ℃, 105 ℃, 110 ℃) and softness, some functional additives should be added respectively. In addition, powdery additives and plasticizers as far as possible after grinding into slurry, and then added to the PVC resin.
